Holistic Psychotherapy
Release what your mind is holding onto & what your body aches to let go of
Have you ever wondered why you find yourself in situations that cause you to feel similar emotions or react in a certain way?
We’re guided by our unconscious more than we can imagine. The deeper we get to know ourselves the less our unconscious controls our life. We start seeing the patterns that led us to similar outcomes time and time again. With our new found awareness previous challenges lose their power over us. We’re less likely to be emotionally triggered the same way because we see situations for what they are, not what they used to be or what we want them to be.
And since roughly 95% of our unconsciousness is stored in the body only so much of these patterns can be released through the mind. That’s why along with in-depth psychotherapy I incorporate the healing modality of yoga.
I am a licensed social worker and IAYT certified yoga therapist with over 12 years combined experience working with adolescents and adults in several settings (community mental health, healthcare, schools and private practice) who are coping with anxiety-related disorders, depression, mood disorders, PTSD, ADHD, trauma and general life stress.
In addition to talk therapy I introduce practices from yoga that open the client to deeper realization and increased resilience to mental and emotional challenges. Yoga therapy is not exercise. Prior yoga or meditation practice is not required. And don’t worry about flexibility. Most of the practices can be done in a chair or seated on the ground.
Sessions run 50 minutes. During our time together, we’ll usually start with talk therapy and weave in practices towards the end of our session.
Some of the practices may include:
Within 3 sessions, I felt more in control of my anxiety and depression and just feel more grounded in life! For the first time in a long time I can say I am truly happy. I know how to manage my anxiety and depression in a much more impactful way.
Also, I really enjoyed that no session was the same and really adjusted around what was going on with me and how we could protect and manage through together. I am a spiritual person and Ashley was able to take that part of me and weave it into our sessions in order to protect and enhance my spiritual side. I was able to tap into that part of me in cool ways during each session making me feel more confident with my spiritual self.
I highly recommend working with Ashley – you will truly get so much more that you even knew you needed through her programs!”
